Funding Opportunities

Do you have an idea for an initiative that advances equity, diversity and inclusion at UBC? We believe in supporting community-led projects that are informed by community voices. By providing funding to UBC community members, including students, faculty, and staff, we seek to build capacity to lead change and meet the specific and localized needs of diverse communities.

Overview

A range of funding opportunities are available to students, faculty and staff, as well as external community partners interested in building a more inclusive UBC and more inclusive community partnerships.

  • Strategic Equity & Anti-Racism (StEAR) Enhancement Fund

    The Strategic Equity & Anti-Racism (StEAR) Enhancement Fund provides funding for student, faculty and/or staff-led initiatives that seek to advance UBC’s equity and anti-racism priorities.

  • Community-University Engagement Support (CUES) Fund

    The Community-University Engagement Support (CUES) Fund awards up to $25,000 to support community-university partnerships that benefit communities across the province and advance collaborative research, teaching, and learning.

  • Partnership Recognition and Exploration (PRE) Fund

    UBC’s PRE Fund offers funding that helps to fill small resource gaps and acknowledge the work of community groups that partner with UBC. In 2021, the fund welcomes applications for projects that advance equity and justice through reciprocal community engagement.
